The toddler room is for children between 18 months and 3 years old. It has its own integrated facilities and sleep room. It has direct access to an all weather outside play area, this area leads directly onto a secure grassed area containing a larger all weather sandpit and climbing equipment with safety flooring. Within this large area there is also a small portion for digging and planting. This then leads onto the woodland walk. At Rainbow we believe the best classroom is the outside environment, children play outside all year round and experience the open countryside and the changing seasons. Wellingtons, boots, waterproofs, coats and hats for winter and summer are essential wear at our nursery.
During the day there are many planned activities and children have the opportunity to work on computers, creating and printing their own work as well as general childrens games. The time is controlled but it promotes good co-ordination and fine motor skills.
