Trustees
As a charity the nursery is controlled by a board of trustees. These are currently or have been parents at the nursery and have taken on the responsibility for the business and direction of the nursery. They meet monthly to make the business decisions and implement the nursery policies, they are also responsible in attempting to meet the charitable aims of the nursery. All parents can have some input into the nursery, suggestions, becoming a member of the fundraising committee or becoming a trustee are just a few ways.
Staff
All of the staff at Rainbow are qualified or working towards a level 3 qualification. All room supervisors are qualified to level three. Many of the staff have been at Rainbow considerable length of time. The nursery has two managers, an operations manager (Sharon) and a childcare manager(Anna T), they control the daily operation of the nursery. The managers have both worked for Rainbow for the past 12 years. The baby room supervisor (Anna S) has been in post for 2 years. The toddler room supervisor (Kay) has been in the post for 6 years. Staff turnover at Rainbow is very low, and cover a wide age range, we feel that this blend of staff give the best possible level of experience and committment to ensure the best level of childcare for your child. The nursery also has its own cook (Lisa) as meals are prepared daily on the premises and its own adminstration staff (Kerry) to assist parents with any financial questions.
Committee
The nursery has a fundraising committee who meet monthly throughout the year and organise many events such as the Christmas party, the Easter fun day and the children''s sports day, they also organise evening events and regular quizzes. The committee is made up from staff and a few dedicated parents and ex-parents. The funds are used for projects that help the nursery improve its facilities and level of childcare. Some funds were used in the Lavender room refurbishment and the large climbing frame was installed entirely with fundraising capital.
